The jokes mostly fall flat or are too reminiscent of the material in the first installment. Clerks is a solid film and its sequel shames its name. Filmspotting needs a Ken Loach marathon. We were both there to meet Matty Ballgame, co-host of the very excellent Filmspotting podcast. Anyone can be a father, but it takes a true man to be a dad. Dads will go to the ends of the earth to protect and provide for their family. While none of these men are perfect and dads can be flawed, they do try to overcome.
Dads can be hilarious and terrifying and often must be both to be successful characters. We need a great guest to help us sift through this. Welcome Mr. In September Matty began co-hosting duties full-time. And so it now transpires that Matty Ballgame is leaving Filmspotting, at present for destinations unannounced. Filmspotting is my favourite film podcast by some distance sorry Dr Kermode , because it has done more to broaden my cinematic knowledge and experience than anything else.
Even better, it has introduced me to directors and films I might never have sought out, but for the passionate, committed and considered recommendation of its hosts.
